Part One: The Other America 1. Many Americans after WWII experience the American dream of comfort and prosperity. Many other Americans suffer from poverty, racial inequality racial discrimination and do not share in the unprecidented prosperity of the nation.
Part Two: The Era of Social Change 1. The other Americans seek social equality 2. Social activism establishes violent and non violent motivations 3. Social movement establish violent and nonviolent motivations 4. Social movements experience gains and losses.
Part Three: Outcomes of the Movement 1. Americans become increasingly aware of social, political and economic links to one another
